David, Rodger, and I always make time to get together each month.
- David, Rodger and I have been friends since high school, and we all attended the same state college.
We grew up together, and we settled in the same region. David and Rodger work at an accounting firm in the city, and I have my own consulting firm here in the burbs. We’re all very busy during the week, but we have a standing appointment every other Friday at The Green Room. The Green Room is a nice martini bar centrally located between all three of our jobs. We’ve been meeting at The Green Room for the past six months, and Rodger was late yesterday. I talked to Rodger at 4pm, and he said he was leaving work. Rodger didn’t actually leave work until after 5, and he didn’t arrive to the bar until happy hour was almost over. Rodger had an excuse for everything, and all he did was complain during our entire get together. We moved tables twice, because Rodger was unhappy with the indoor air temperature. First it was too cold, and then it was too hot. I don’t know if Rodger didn’t want to be there, or if he really was not bothered by the indoor air temperature. Rodger asked our server to adjust the air conditioner, and they happily agreed to change the temperature. Still, Rodger continued to make snide comments about the air temperatures. When the manager came to our table, Rodger started yelling and screaming. David and I must have looked stunned, because we have never seen Rodger act so inappropriately.
