I do not believe that my husband and I are meant to have air conditioning in our vehicle.
It has never worked out for us to have air conditioning. The first car that we owned did not have air conditioning, so we tried to fix it, but we were not able to. There was a pretty significant leak in an air conditioning line, and the patch that we put on there did not hold. We drove it an entire summer without air conditioning which was completely miserable. It was extremely hot, and the seats in the car were made of black leather. We had to buy cloth seat covers because sitting on those seats when it was so hot in the car was unbearable. We finally got an air conditioning line put in before our second summer with the car. Unfortunately, the transmission went in the car just a month after we replaced the AC line. We ended up getting a newer vehicle, and it had air conditioning. It worked great for about two months. We stopped at a gas station one afternoon and when we went to leave, we turned the vehicle back on, and the air conditioning vents started spitting out pieces of ice. It was not long after that day that the air conditioner stopped blowing cold, and we found out that we had another leak in one of our AC lines. I guess we just really are not made to have a vehicle with air conditioning. It is so expensive to replace an AC line, so my husband is going to try and do it himself.
