I have three boys and if you count my husband that makes it four.
It is sometimes hard being the only woman in my house, but I always make sure that the boys know who is in charge. It is the middle of the summer and during the day it gets to over 100 degrees sometimes. I know that it might sound crazy, but even in the summer I like to have the thermostat set to higher temperature. I don’t want to have to spend a bunch of money on the electric bill each month. So, I started to have a problem where the kids were adjusting the thermostat in the house without my knowledge. I would come home from work and the house would be freezing cold. I would get upset and look to see what temperature the thermostat was set on, normally it would be around 65 degrees. I couldn’t take this anymore so I called my local HVAC company to see if there was anything I could do to keep the kids from changing the temperature of the thermostat. The HVAC tech said that since we had a smart thermostat I could set a password so that know one else but me could make changes. I loved this idea and did it right away. I don’t want anyone else to change the temperature of the HVAC system because they don’t have to pay the bills each month. I know the house is hotter than they want, but they are just going to have to deal with it.
